The Apostle Paul boasts to the Corinthian Christians about the wisdom of Jesus Christ that is given to Christians as revealed by the Holy Spirit. This is peculiar for Paul, the Apostle of God and esteemed preacher and teacher – he was definitely not one without human wisdom. However, he was purposeful in keeping his “human wisdom” in check. By being firmly determined not to speak about anything except Jesus and the cross of Calvary on which He was crucified, the Corinthian Church can be clear that Paul’s teaching “might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power” (1 Cor 2:5).

He explains the wisdom behind his teaching and preaching as that coming from God, revealed by the Holy Spirit, because he has the mind of Christ.

What does it mean to have the mind of Christ? In 1 Cor 2 we can see some truths shared by Paul on this concept of “having the mind of Christ”:
1. Having the mind of Christ is not given to us because of any earthly wisdom or works but the demonstration of the Holy Spirit’s power (v4)
2. It is a different kind of wisdom from earthly wisdom and the world will not be able to understand (v6)
3. The mind of Christ is mysterious and hidden but destined way before the beginning of time (v7)
4. What God has prepared for us to learn about is nothing close to anything we can imagine – His ways and thoughts are higher and more glorious than ours (v9)
5. The Holy Spirit is the one that informs us, even the deep things of God (v10)

The mind of Christ can be liken to a pair of special pair of 5D-glasses that:
1. is given to us when we made the decision to “accept the free gift of salvation”
2. promises clarity in terms of what is eternal and important, and what is not
3. allows us to seek out secret gems and treasures that has been waiting to be found
4. exposes us to a whole new dimension then what we knew before
5. only works if we are charged and connected to the right batteries (Holy Spirit)

Here are some practical questions you can ask yourself as you consider “having the mind of Christ”. Do you put on this pair of 5D-glasses that promises best vision for your life and beyond? Do you put on these 5D- glasses daily? Has your world view been transformed by this 5D-glasses?
